that have to do with the theme of your specific girls camp is always best. For example, I planned three seperate devotionals
that very much had to do with the camp theme. My camp theme was "Walk Tall, You're a Daughter of Camp". So
I made devotionals that had to do with walking tall in different aspects of life, such as, at home, at school,
and at church. Which seemed to work very well.
Sometimes a camp theme may not be as specific, so here's a layout idea that works for me with all
my devotionals. Aswell as a devotioanl subject example that works with any camp theme.
My usual layout for devotionals is like so:
-YOUR GIRLS CAMP THEME-
-SAY OUT LOUD-
(just incase you're girls don't know it)
-YOUR DEVOTIONAL THEME FOR CAMP-
Being a "Good Samarita" in all aspects of
but especially, at home (dev. #1), school (dev.
#3) , and
church (dev. #4).
-YOUR DEVO.TITLE FOR THAT DATE-
-SAY OUT LOUD-
(Being a good samaritan at school)
(having to do with the devotional)
-SHORT PARAGRAPH EXPLAINING TITLE-
(Being a good samaritan in those aspects of life
is very important. Just because someone isn't a best friend doesn't mean they can use your help, especially if that person
is in your class and isn't a member of the church.)
(The subject title of my devotional today is:)
(-Being a good samaritan at school-)
(Plenty of girls that have been converts were brought
in by friends at school! It's your girls job to bring in to the gospel. We should notice girls that seem to be particularily
down, and be as friendy as possible to them..........(think up of other ways that you can be a good samaritan like: Homework
help, tutoring, carpool (*check with mom/dad*) moral support, invite to mutual and so on)
(then ask them what ways they can help other young women
at school, or give examples of ways that they already have helped young women at school)
(include your camp mom)
-PASS OUT MOMENTOS!-
So what'd ya think?
Try this format with my other devotional
(I'm pretty sure that most girls' camps' only have three devotionals, every
subject I suggest is a theme for grouping of all three days)
- Making it through:church, home, school
- Making it through:home sick, or uncomfertable at camp
Being an example:
-Standing tall as examples of the gospel:church, home, school
-Keeping it cool, don't get angry!:church, home, school
-Temptation: staying on the right path:church, home, school
-Obeying adults: church/camp, home, school
